The Hawth Crawley is disappointed to announce that this years pantomime, Cinderella, will be postponed until 2021.
The production was set to run from Friday 4 December 2020 to Sunday 3 January 2021, delighting the 30,000 festive theatre fans who typically flock to the Crawley venue annually to see the Christmas spectaculars.
Following the government announcement that it will not be possible, until November at the earliest, to clarify whether indoor performances can take place without social distancing and after a great deal of discussion the decision has been taken to reschedule Cinderella for next year, when the show will take to the stage with more magic and sparkle than ever before.
The Hawth’s General Manager, Dave Watmore said: “The decision to postpone Cinderella has not been an easy one. We know that our audiences look forward to their visit to the pantomime, just as all the team at The Hawth do. However, we’ve had to postpone due to the continued uncertainty around when we’ll be allowed to re-open at full capacity. The good news is that Cinderella will now take place in 2021 when we will be absolutely delighted to welcome our audiences back for our biggest and best panto yet!”
Writer and Producer of The Hawth pantomimes, Paul Hendy from Evolution Productions said: “The thought of Christmas without The Hawth pantomime is devastating. However, the audiences at The Hawth are wonderful and I know they will understand this decision and be supportive of it. Will The Hawth pantomime return? Oh yes it will!”
Customers who have bought a ticket for this year’s show will be contacted in due course and offered the opportunity to transfer directly to next year’s production or obtain a full refund. The Hawth Box Office is currently operating with a much reduced team who will be in touch with you as soon as possible, therefore your patience is much appreciated.
