63 Horsham families supported by Freemasons food initiative

It is now six weeks since the Horsham Masonic Lodges that meet at the Normandy Centre, Denne Road, working in conjunction with The Café and in support of the local food bank, Horsham Matters, started their hot food provision and delivery initiative.

Every Sunday lunchtime Horsham Freemasons and their wives deliver a warming meal and pudding to vulnerable people in the Horsham area.

So far over the six weeks they have delivered over 150 hot meals in support of 63 separate households. The menu changes each week and the choice is ordered in advance, but a typical menu might include a choice of Beef, Pork or Chicken, with roast potatoes and two vegetables, followed by syrup sponge or banoffee pie.

The initiative is currently due to run until the end of July.

W.Bro Pete Hansen, Chairman of the Normandy Centre said “It has been so rewarding to see the way that the Horsham Masonic Lodges have come together to support this initiative and humbling to see just how grateful the people who are receiving the hot food are”
