A message from The Rec rooms team
‘Opened by three locals just over 18 months ago, we had been gaining popularity across Sussex and Surrey, becoming known as the link between London and Brighton for live music. We are proud to have hosted bands and artists such as The Blockheads, Toploader, Mud Morganfield and DB3 (feat. Dom Brown from Duran Duran) as well as supporting local talent with Showcase evenings and lots more up our sleeve for 2020.
And then Covid-19 hit. We were getting close to that magical two-year mark for new businesses and could see light at the end of the tunnel but now we face a very uncertain future.
But all is not lost! The Music Venue Trust has put together a national campaign to #SAVEOURVENUES and along with over 550 other small music venues we are crowdfunding to help us with the running costs until we can open our doors once more.
So, this is a call to arms to get behind a local independent business with so much more to give. If you have a couple of quid to spare, please do consider supporting our fantastic venue. If that isn’t something you can do right now you can still help by following us on social media and sharing our crowdfunding page.
The support we have received since opening the page on Monday has been truly overwhelming, but we still have a way to go before reaching our target. So please, dig deep and don’t forget to share when you donate using the hashtag #saveourvenues and #therecrooms
We look forward to welcoming you back very soon Rec Roomers!
Stay home, stay safe and #savelivemusic,
Your Rec Rooms Team
P.S. Best of all we continue to stream live and completely free gigs on Wednesdays and Fridays at 9pm on YouTube and Facebook.
