The Silvertip Films Horsham Film Festival is back for 2020!

After a smash hit debut year as part of the Horsham Year of Culture, the Horsham Film Festival is back with a fantastic shortlisted selection of films which cover the Festival’s four main categories; Best Comedy, Best Drama, Best Animation and Best Documentary. There’s also the special Your District award which celebrates the films of any genre, made within the Horsham District.

The Awards Night promises to be a great event for everyone attending, audience and nominated filmmakers alike. Alongside screenings of each of the winning films in their respective categories, we have a special performance from HAODS – the Horsham Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society – plus an interval performance in the bar from local acoustic singer/songwriter Taygan Paxtan. Plus, there’s a special guest coming to join in the festivities in the shape of Nicola Hume – a name recognisable to many local to the area and a firm favourite from The Capitol’s recent pantomimes.

The event is being organised by local video production company Silvertip Films, producers of corporate video, live event coverage and promotional video content for many businesses within the West Sussex area and further afield.

Sponsors of the event have either contributed physical prizes for the award winners or contributions which are helping to make the night that little bit extra special. Prizes for the filmmakers are coming from global brands like Manfrotto, Dorling Kindersley and Michael Weise Publications, plus local companies including Freeman Brothers Funeral Directors, Chesworths Estate Agents, Smith and Western, Horsham Bedding Centre, Cocoa Loco, Mac Man, South Lodge Hotel and Spa, Firebird Brewery. The Festival also has media partners through The District Post and the UK Film Review website.

The Festival is also raising money – via a percentage of each ticket sold – to local children’s Charity Springboard, who will also be at the event on the night.

So, if you are a fan of film and want to see some of the best work for local and national rising talent or if you are a filmmaker yourself and want to see what others are making and do some networking, or if you just fancy a night out which is a little different to the usual, then come along to the Horsham Film Festival 2020 Awards Night!
