Thakeham extends Horsham Rugby Club sponsorship

Horsham Rugby Club is very pleased to announce that the Sussex based
home builder Thakeham has extended its main sponsorship of the Club for a
further three years. Thakeham, with its Head Office in Sumners Place,
Billingshurst, will display its distinctive black and white lion branding on new
rugby shirts to be worn by the 1 st XV, 2 nd XV and every mini age group from
Under 7 up to Under 12. The Thakeham construction group is one of the
South East's fastest growing developers and, as such, last year earned a
justifiably proud place in the prestigious ‘Sunday Times’ annual Virgin Atlantic
Fast Track 100’ list, the league table ranking Britain’s 100 fastest-growing
companies over the previous three years. Thakeham has already been a
sponsor at Horsham Rugby Club for a number of years, and is actively
engaged with local charities, promoting opportunities for armed forces
veterans. The company delivers private residential development and quality
affordable homes, with infrastructure, road improvements, community facilities
and schools, and prides itself in improving communities. Among ongoing
projects Thakeham also sponsors other community sports teams, including
Billingshurst Cricket Club, Managing Director Robert Boughton saying: “As a
regional home builder, we know all about the importance of thriving local
communities. Sports teams play an important part in building and maintaining
the fabric of those communities and that’s why we are so pleased to support
Horsham Rugby club and be the club’s main sponsor for the next three
Horsham RUFC plays home games at the Coolhurst Ground in Horsham’s
Hammerpond Road and currently has an incredible playing membership of
400, men, ladies, boys and girls, ranging from Under 7 to three Senior (adult)
teams. It has been another highly successful season at the Club with the 1st
XV securing promotion to the London South 1 League, the highest level in the
Club’s history, and winning the Bob Rogers Sussex Cup for the sixth year in
succession. The 2019-20 season will also see the Lions (2nd XV) cross
county boundaries to play in the Surrey Premiership and the Barbarians (3rds)
compete in Sussex 3. Nick Stocker will continue as Head Coach, assisted by
Richard Bell, Adam Halsey and Johnny Porter.
Horsham Rugby Club’s Vice Chairman and Commercial Manager Richard
Ordidge said “We are delighted that Thakeham will continue as the main
sponsor of Horsham Rugby Club for the next three years during a period of
unrivalled success for the Club, where sponsorship is vital – it helps us fund
the maintenance and improvement of our facilities, essential as we strive to
run our high achieving and well-respected Club. We have a strong
responsibility to our members and are keen to attract local talent of all ages.”
