ANTHONY SAHOTA TO FLY IN TO THE CAPITOL, HORSHAM THIS DECEMBER

Nick Mowat, General Manager at The Capitol, is delighted to confirm that Anthony Sahota will play the starring role of Peter Pan in this year’s spectacular family pantomime, which is due to open in Horsham on Friday 13 December.
After graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kingston University, Anthony starred in the BBC’s exciting new talent competition Let it Shine which aimed to find young performers to star in The Band, a new stage musical featuring the songs of Take That.
A passionate singer and performer, Anthony had record deal offers prior to the show, but decided to finish his degree before pursuing his singing dreams.
Whilst studying his degree, and fitting in any time spare writing songs and recording/performing, Anthony had an unforgettable moment when Gary Barlow surprised him by turning up at his graduation to tell him he had been selected for the show! Recalling the day, Anthony said: “I was absolutely speechless. To be selected from hundreds of applicants for an opportunity like this, and for it to be announced in front of all of my friends and family by Gary Barlow, was just the greatest and most honoured feeling!”
Throughout the show, Anthony received praise for his unique vocal style and renditions of current chart hits. A highlight was performing with his childhood favourite pop group Busted on national TV as well as Olly Murs. He went on to reach the quarter final stage in the contest.
Most recently, Anthony toured the UK and performed in the biggest UK Bollywood musical, Bring on the Bollywood. His early theatrical experience included being directed by Andrew Lloyd Webber in the musical Whistle down the Wind. Further recent theatre work includes playing the lead role of Aladdin in Dubai.
Inspired by R & B / pop culture, ‘My Road’ (his EP released early 2017) brought his unique contribution to the contemporary music scene; with more exciting official music projects coming in 2019.
Anthony said: “I am delighted to be performing at The Capitol, Horsham and I can’t wait to play “the boy who never grew up” in this year’s dazzling family pantomime. Keep an eye out for announcements of who else will be joining me!”
