Collyer’s student, Billy Venner, has won the Young Start-up Talent (YST) 2019. The YST is a community based project aimed at young entrepreneurs aged between 16-25, looking to start their own business. The South East Showcase took place at Thales UK with a £50,000 prize fund, made up of a range of business products and services, which provides the chosen winner with the vital support & guidance needed to start their own business with a more sustainable future.
Along with Billy, the finalists were: Rebecca Fitzgerald, Anthony Mellor, Hlanganiso Matangaidze and Tom Gray; Tom Williams and Luke Baldwin. The panel of Judges comprised: David Kickham – Operations Director, Thales Group, Paul McConalogue – Director of Corporate & Commercial Banking Crawley & Gatwick Area, Natwest, Ana Christie – CEO, Sussex Chamber of Commerce, Tony Hyams-Parish – Partner, DMH Stallard; Mario Carrozzo – CEO, Caridon Property, Jon Maile – Audit Partner/Practice Leader, Grant Thornton UK LLP and Akeel Alidina – Managing Director, Caridon Property.
