The sun shone for the annual bird box building at Copsale Hall on Sunday 23 Jan. Local timber merchants, Wenban Smith, once again supported the event by donating the wood which was then made up into kits. Participants brought along their own hammers and nailed together some very sturdy nesting boxes. After working up an appetite, many enjoyed a ‘bacon butty’ and a hot drink before going home to hang their box up in their garden.
The Hall has been in Copsale for over 100 years. There are plans to improve the facilities on offer whilst maintaining the unique character of this old building. All proceeds from the bird box building, and other Hall events, will go towards the maintenance and improvement of Copsale Hall.
