Yup, it’s that time of year. The time of year when we move over to the main house, and present a show featuring our usual array of outstanding acts, but this time with a little bit more of a profile in each of their respective cases. And this year promises to be an absolute blast.
As ever, resident host Kevin Precious, will be on hand to oversee the proceedings. The featured acts are: the distinctive and illuminating Chris McCausland (Live at the Apollo), the hugely articulate and acerbic Andrew Lawrence (Live at the Apollo), and the wonderfully dry circuit legend that is John Moloney (The Comedy Store).
Chris McCausland is a stand up comedian and actor. He is also the only professional comedian in the world who is blind, and after performing stand-up since 2003, is firmly established at the very top of the UK’s live comedy circuit, performing at all of the country’s major clubs including the world famous Comedy Store in the heart of London’s West-End.
One of Britain’s most subversive and intelligent comedians, Andrew Lawrence, has been lauded with many awards and nominations for his comedy including winning The BBC New Comedy Award, and being twice nominated for The Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Award. On television he has appeared on Live At The Apollo, The Michael McIntyre Comedy Roadshow, Dave’s One Night Stand and as a regular on Stand Up For The Week. The BBC have also since commissioned Andrew to record his fourth BBC Radio 4 series, There Is No Escape. Straight from Edinburgh on his eleventh consecutive year, he is currently on tour with his show ‘The Hate Speech Tour’.
John Moloney has been a professional comedian for over twenty years – and headlines at all the major Comedy Clubs around the world, including the prestigious London Comedy Store. John has TWICE won ‘Best Live Performer’ at The London Comedy Festival, and was nominated as ‘Best Live Stand-Up’ at The British Comedy Awards. John Moloney is a world-travelled comedian, who has delighted thousands at Festivals, Theatres, and Clubs. From Melbourne to Edinburgh, from the prestigious Just For Laughs and Halifax Festivals in Canada to The Liffey Laughs in Dublin – John has been recognized as a true multi-award-winning comic talent.
