Grandparents are respected for the unconditional love they give and the joy they bring to the little ones in the family, but there are a few gems out there that are going the extra mile.
And now residents of Sussex are being asked to nominate the most deserving grandparent they know, in recognition of all that they do.
As part of its Most Deserving Awards, Highwood Mill – Horsham’s most recent retirement development – is on the look-out for grandparents who are true stars.
The winner will walk away with an engraved trophy and receive an all expense paid afternoon tea for four, at Highwood Mill in Horsham.
Rachel Richards, of Highwood Mill, said: “Grandparents inject so much colour into families and help inspire future generations, so we want to hear about the commendable grandparents out there. Maybe they are worthy of winning the accolade of Most Deserving Grandparent due to their dedication to the family, or because of their extended role in the community. If they go above and beyond the call of duty, we want to hear about them, so we can give them the recognition they deserve.”
Nominations are now open and people are being urged to put names forward for the first Most Deserving Award title.
To make a nomination, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with a short description of the nominee, why they deserve to win, their contact details and the area they live in. Please also include your own contact details. Nominations can be made until midnight on Thursday 26 July.
