Don Gallardo was raised in California before relocating to Nashville in 2008. But this evening, he’ll be found in Crawley for a night of Americana music to delight all fans of great music!
Don walks the line between folk, Americana and roots-rock, mining the influence of classic 1970s singer-songwriters while creating a sound that nods to the past yet still pushing ahead toward something new.
Gallardo has earned a broad audience on both sides of the Atlantic. He’s also earned high praise from outlets like Rolling Stone who included Gallardo in the ’10 New Country Artists You Need to Know’. His newest album, Hickory, inspired by everything (from his California upbringing, to his time in the Bible Belt) was named one of 2015’s best country albums by The Daily Telegraph – proof that Gallardo’s career has truly gone global.
You can hear Gallardo’s music prominently featured in films like Jolene and Jackass Presents Bad Grandpa, as well as the television series The Vampire Diaries, and ABC’s Nashville.
Performance: Friday 23 March 7.45pm, The Hawth Studio Crawley. Tickets: £16, available from The Hawth Box Office: 01293 553636 and online: www.hawth.co.uk.
