Horsham Rotary Club’s annual Christmas Charity Market raised £600 towards Horsham Rotary’s Christmas giving to the needier families of the town and it’s immediate surrounds. The market played ‘home’ to a number of local charities including St Catherine’s Hospice; Chestnut Tree House; Macmillan who raised £368 on the day; Age-UK Horsham; West Sussex Mediation Services; Horsham’s Repair Café; Friends Reaching Out’….transforming the lives of orphaned children ; Neil’s Club….a place for people with young onset dementia; Cats Protection etc . Horsham Citizen’s Advice Bureau used the event to remind the community of the valuable services that they offer from their premises near Horsham Library.
Les & Dee Searle’s magnificent Steam Bus offered visitors to the market a circular tour of Horsham Town which attracted queues all day…with several overseas visitors, including notably a family from Norway who were certainly amazed at seeing such a wonderful example of steam engineering.
