West Sussex Fire and Rescue crews to promote fire prevention for Horsham’s restaurant trade

Horsham District Council and West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service are set to deliver a fire prevention workshop tailored specifically for Horsham based restaurant owners from 2pm to 3.30pm on Monday 6 November at The Capitol, Horsham.

Raising awareness of the workshop and distributing promotional flyers, West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service were out in force in Horsham on Wednesday (25 October) encouraging local restaurants to participate.

The council and the West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service are working closely with local businesses to look at recent town centre incidents and share best practice to help reduce the risk of further fires in the local food and drink sector. A spokesman for the organisers explained: “Horsham has had four major restaurant fires in three years. Apart from the risk to life, these fires have been extremely costly for the town, as well as each business affected, and we are keen to help businesses understand what they can be doing to help prevent a reoccurrence.”
