By popular demand, The Hawth is delighted to welcome back The Bootleg Shadows this Sunday (1 October).
The Bootleg Shadows bring their outstanding tribute act to The Hawth for a night of foot tapping classics, celebrating the music of The Shadows & Cliff Richard, with plenty of humour to make it a night out to remember!
In June 1960, Hank B Marvin, Bruce Welch, Jet Harris and Tony Meehan recorded Apache. This charted in July and became the monster hit that launched the Shadows’ instrumental career and founded a nation of bespectacled guitarists dreaming of acquiring their very own red Fender Stratocaster and stepping out into the glaring spotlight of stardom.
With their immaculate appearance, synchronised dance movements and clean, pure melodic sound, The Shadows chalked up 35 hits of their own (not counting another 33 hits with Cliff Richard), giving them more hits than any other British group and securing them a unique place in the annals of popular music.
Today, the Shadows make few live appearances, but The Bootleg Shadows keep their ‘live’ sound alive by performing a must-see concert that encompasses The Shadows’ amazing career from 1960 up until the early ’80s.
Relive such fantastic hits as: Apache, FBI, Wonderful Land, Foot Tapper, Atlantis, Kon-Tiki, Cavatina, Let Me Be The One, Bachelor Boy, Move It, plus many more.
Audiences will hum the tunes and do the Shadows’ ‘famous walk’ long after having left the theatre. For anyone who loves the sounds of the ‘60s, and enjoys a few laughs along the way, this show is one not to be missed!
Performance: Sunday 1 October, 7.30pm, The Hawth Studio. Tickets: £19 (discounts: £17.50), available from The Hawth Box Office on 01293 553636 or by visiting hawth.co.uk
