Dreamboats and Petticoats at The Hawth

The hit musical Dreamboats and Petticoats will make a welcome return to The Hawth, Crawley, next month, celebrating golden hits from the rock ‘n’ roll era.

Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, the writers behind TV classics ‘Goodnight Sweetheart’, ‘Birds of a Feather’, ‘The New Statesmen’ and ‘Shine On Harvey Moon’, are behind the show that features classic tracks from Roy Orbison, The Shadows, Eddie Cochran, Billy Fury, and many more.

Set in 1961, emotions are running high as young musicians Norman and Bobby compete to win a national songwriting competition – and more importantly, the attention of the gorgeous Sue! But when Bobby discovers that shy Laura is no slouch on the piano, love and rock ‘n’ roll fame beckons.

Regulars to The Hawth may recognise Elizabeth Carter, as ‘Wendy’ in last year’s pantomime, Peter Pan, as the character ‘Laura’ who is delighted to be returning.

The West End sell-out sensation, Dreamboats and Petticoats, features some of the greatest hit songs of the Rock ‘n’ Roll era, including Shaking All Over, Bobby’s Girl, Only Sixteen, Runaround Sue, Great Pretender, C’mon Everybody, Let’s Twist Again and many more hits from music’s golden era!

Performance: 4 –  9 September, 7.30pm, The Hawth Theatre. Tickets: (starting from £31.50) available from The Hawth Box Office: 01293 553636 or online: hawth.co.uk
