Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, produced by Evolution Productions, has become Crawley’s Hawth Theatre’s fastest selling pantomime to date. The show has sold over 10,000 tickets and is on track to break all The Hawth’s Box Office records before it opens on 8 December, running until 7 January 2018.
Interest in the pantomime is hardly surprising, as it will star one of Britain’s favourite TV personalities, Stephen Mulhern, as Billy. Stephen is no stranger to pantomimes at The Hawth, where he previously appeared as Buttons in Cinderella (2013) and Jangles, the Storyteller, in Sleeping Beauty (2014), when he was famously pranked by Ant and Dec for their Takeaway show.
Stephen hosts a string of smash hit television shows, including Catchphrase, Britain’s Got More Talent and Big Star’s Little Star, and can also be heard on Sunday mornings co-hosting with Emma Willis on Heart Radio.
Snow White will also see the welcome return to the Hawth of Michael J Batchelor, who wowed audiences last year as Mrs Smee in Peter Pan and previous to that, as Nurse Nellie in Sleeping Beauty. One of Britain’s premier pantomime dames, Michael is renowned for his wicked sense of humour, slapstick comedy and, not least, his flamboyant costumes – many of which he makes himself.
The beautiful and talented Lauren Cocoracchio, who played Sleeping Beauty in 2014, will reunite with Stephen and Michael this year, as The Hawth announces that she is to play the title role of Snow White.
Further casting is to be announced.
