Paying attention to pooches

Dog walkers are being invited to find out more about the areas where they walk their pooches in West Sussex.

Sussex Police, South Downs National Park and the RSPB are joining together to help dog walkers find out more about the county’s environment.

The events are being organised by West Sussex County Council and include topics from local nesting birds and the meaning behind the red flags to sheep worrying and the entertaining ‘Take the Lead’ campaign.

Sheep worrying is currently one of the biggest rural crimes taking place in West Sussex.

It is hoped that the events will give dog owners the chance to find out more about the law and their responsibilities.

The free events are being held on May 16 from 6.30pm and May 20 from 10am at Brinsbury College, in North Heath, Pulborough. Tickets are required.
