New Virtual Tour shows Event Centre’s versatility

With a new online virtual tour, launched this month at www.southofenglandeventcentre.co.uk, and nearly £50,000 of new business already booked for 2017, the South of England Event Centre, at the South of England Showground in Ardingly, is looking forward to an exciting year ahead.

Chairman of the Event Centre Board of Directors, Tony Roestenburg, said: “We are really excited about the launch of the new virtual tour, made by Google, which gives a fantastic 360 degree view of the facilities of the Event Centre.

“This unique venue offers huge versatility to professional event organisers, corporate business and private individuals, with adaptable spaces for a wide variety of large and small indoor and outdoor events.  Being able to direct new clients to the virtual tour, to see how the Event Centre can work for their particular event, will be a terrific asset in attracting more business.”

The Event Centre will welcome some big brand events in 2017, including the Gatwick Diamond Charity Challenge in May; the Emily Ash Trust; International Paintball in July, hosted by the Millennium European Paintball Series as part of their worldwide champions league, which covers 110 countries and 16 million players worldwide; Lawson’s Family Fun Day in July; a Barbecue Festival and Brighton & Hove Bus Company Fun Day in August.

A new event called ‘Bumps, Dots & Tots Baby Show’ launches at the Showground in September and other familiar favourites, such as the International Antiques and Collectors Fairs; Spring Garden & Leisure Show; Mid Sussex Auctions; South of England Show; Dog Agility Club; Autumn Show & Game Fair; The British Pet Show; South of England Wedding Fair and Winter Fair will also return in 2017.

One event that stood out last year was ‘Bark in the Park’, hosted by More Than Pet Insurance. Dan Morgan, Bark in the Park Event Manager, said: “Following the hugely successful Bark in the Park in October 2016, I would thoroughly recommend the Event Centre at the South of England Showground as a fantastic location. This was a unique, live event for More Than insurance, billed as an ‘alternative dogs and cats show’ and attended by 1,200 people. It was also an exercise to capture material, for use on our social media channels, and though this posed some challenges for us, we were fantastically supported by the Event Centre team and the day wouldn’t have been as successful without their help. The Showground itself is in a beautiful setting, easily accessible from London and Gatwick, and we were even lucky with the great weather.”

Also indicative of the Event Centre growth during the last year, new client ‘Best Parties Ever’ hosted 4,500 people over eight nights in December 2016, as part of a three-year Christmas Party contract, raising awareness of the venue amongst corporate businesses and individuals in the region.

The Event Centre is home to registered charity, the South of England Agricultural Society, which is celebrating its 50th year of supporting farming, agriculture and the countryside in the South of England. Iain Nicol, CEO of the Society, stated: “The Event Centre is one of the biggest assets to the Society and we are thrilled that many new businesses are looking to bring their events here during this exciting year for us. We will continue to embrace the digital market and enhance our use of technology as much as possible, to strengthen our work at the Event Centre, which helps fund our charitable remit of supporting agricultural education and countryside learning.”
