After another hugely successful event last year, Horsham’s long running ‘Battle of the Bands’ competition is back for 2017 and will soon be accepting entries through its website at www.horshambotb.co.uk .
Judged by a panel of industry experts, this year’s BotB Festival Weekend will take place on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 August in Horsham Park’s ‘Human Nature Garden’.
The final of the covers competition will take place on the Saturday afternoon, with the final of the originals competition taking place in the evening. As a special treat, last year’s covers and originals winners, Flying Low and The Farmboys, will perform while the judges make their final decisions.
The event will end on the Sunday afternoon, with the acoustic competition, also taking place in the Human Nature Garden, with last year’s winner Hollie Rogers performing while the judges deliberate.
Prizes to be won include a professional music video and photo-shoot, studio time, a single release package and more.
This year, the weekend will once again follow a circus theme, with workshops for kids, themed food and drink vendors, and professional circus performers on site.
Co-organiser and Sussex Soundhouse owner, Rebecca Thompson, said: “The support for last year’s event was overwhelming. We had so many great acts enter and a fantastic turnout for the festival weekend. As always, we look forward to this year’s event being even bigger and better!”
The Horsham BotB website will also once again host an online People’s Choice poll, where fans can get involved, check out the bands that have entered and vote for their favourites.
Closing date for entries is the July 1, when heats will be announced.
Advance tickets for the festival weekend go on sale via the website on April 1: www.horshambotb.co.uk
