Full steam ahead with Boro’s seventh straight win

London 3 South East
Pulborough 41 – 21 Old Dunstonians

Pulborough, the only unbeaten team in the league, delivered another strong win – their seventh from as many starts, putting them six points clear of Thanet Wanderers at the top of the table.
Old Dunstonians are worthy opponents, scoring three good converted tries in the first half and remained very much in the game at half time, but, Boro’s superior fitness, ball retention and patience saw them through for another telling victory. Barney Reed, Harry Scrase, former Captain Richard Nicholls, Henry Lee and full back Frazer Oliphant-Hope all scored tries for Boro, Frazer converting four out of six in addition to kicking a penalty. Ebullient Boro Head Coach Clayton Saunders told the District Post: “This was another tough game, Old Ds again demonstrating why their ‘points for’ record is so good. We played a waiting game and gradually wore them down to win comfortably enough in the end – our tactics enabling us to average six tries a game.”
Tomorrow (Saturday) Boro travel to Ashford. The Kent side were beaten 44-17 by Gillingham Anchorians last week and are marooned at the bottom of the table, still without a point and suffering a horrendous points scoring difference.
