Lashings All Star Cricket coming to Horsham!

Lashings cut out

Wednesday August 24 is a huge red letter day in Horsham Cricket Club’s busy calendar – the Lashings All Stars will be taking on a Club XI in a unique T20 challenge match. There will be a £5 car parking charge but ground entry is free! This is a major fundraising event for the club and the ground will be open from 10.30 with an extensive fun-filled day, including special lunches, fairground rides and catering and bar outlets around the ground – and, of course, cricket!

From 11am the international Lashings stars will be providing coaching sessions on the main square for HCC junior players, followed by a T20 match between an HCC Junior XI and West Chiltington. Guests will be arriving for the Corporate Lunch at 12.30 to be introduced to the Lashings players. The lunch – in a marquee alongside the boundary – will showcase a variety of entertainment and include an auction and raffle. The Lashings match starts at 16.00 with the closing awards ceremony at 19.30. Organiser Colin Mitcham, HCC Hon Treasurer, says: “Sponsorship is available for local companies wishing to promote their services in our pleasant, welcoming hospitality facility and we have a range of packages including taking a guest table and advertising in the match programme. There will be a private seating area outside the marquee to enable guests to watch the match in comfort. The two course lunch will include wine and there will also be a pay bar for additional refreshment. Individual lunch places are also available at £40 each, including a donation to HCC”.

Horsham Cricket Club has an outstanding reputation for organising major events and a mouth wateringly special treat is in store – the return of the legendary Horsham Ladies Tea Tent, so popular at Sussex Festivals – with the best tea and cakes in Sussex and beyond!

The Kent based Lashings team was formed in 1984 and plays to packed houses at home and abroad raising money for sports related charities. Their line up has featured the world’s very best players – Sir Viv Richards, Sachin Tendulkar, Muttiah Muralitharan, Allan Donald and many more, along with England stars, including Malcolm Devon and Monty Panesar.

Colin Mitcham and his team at Horsham Cricket Club are working hard to host this memorable day at the club – please contact Colin on colin.mitcham@btinternet.com or the club office (01403 254628) to arrange a lunch table, sponsorship, advertising or to obtain further details on how to enjoy this unique, friendly event.
