A pre-school has achieved its second ‘outstanding’ Ofsted rating.
Thakeham Pre-school, which is based at Thakeham village hall, was said by inspector Janet Thouless was said to bring to all children ‘exceptional skills for their future learning and eventual move on to school’.
She added: “Children are highly active, independent learners who are able to communicate extremely well and concentrate for long periods. “
“Staff provide excellent imaginative play experiences for children. They are highly effective in increasing children’s sense of curiosity in the activities they provide”.
Thakeham Pre-School manager Sharon Rance was said to demonstrate excellent leadership skill and was full of praise for her staff.
She said: “This endorsement from Ofsted recognises the determination, the passion and the enthusiasm that my team has put in to ensure that every area of care and education is provided at the highest level for our children and their families. As always our fundamental aim remains to ensure that we create the best possible environment in which children can flourish and naturally love learning forever”.
The pre-school will be moving to its new building autumn 2017, developed by joint ventures partners Abingworth Homes and Oakford Homes as part of a new community hub in Thakeham village, featuring new sports pitches, a village hall and a local shop.
