Brides are giving their dresses away in Horsham to help a charity.
They have donated outfits to the recently launched bridal section at the St Catherines’s Hospice shop in the Bishopric.
The shop has launched an upstairs bridal department where bridal parties can shop in style in an elegantly decorated area complete with a luxurious changing space. Mother of the bride and bridesmaids outfits, including veils and accessories, are available to browse too.
Shop manager Teresa Harris said: “We are really excited to launch our exclusive bridal section and hope it will attract local brides to come along and see us. We have received some incredibly generous donations and have some really beautiful dresses on offer.
There is a real mix of styles, from plain to ornate, from white to cream and oyster coloured. We have got some 1960s designs and some of our dresses are brand new. We recently had a £150 BHS gown donated with the label on so there are some real bargains to be had. Our dresses start from £75 and go up to £200.
The shop is now on the lookout for anyone who might be interested in donating their bridal
gown, prom dress, bridesmaid dresses or Mother of the Bride outfits.
Teresa said: “If you have got an outfit that you have worn to a wedding that is sat in your wardrobe, why not consider donating it to support your local hospice? Donating your outfit is a lovely way of passing something special to someone else to enjoy on their special day. We are particularly interested in complete Mother of the Bride outfits, or accessories such as hats, gloves and bags, but are grateful for any donation you can give.”The shop’s bridal section is open for browsing between 9am and 5pm Monday to Saturday or to find out more about donating a dress or outfit, call the shop on 01403 211829.
