The new Horsham Festival runs July 9 to 17 and the programme, featuring over 30 fantastic free and ticketed events, and artistic performances in celebration of the arts, has just been made available.
Covering everything from Music and Dance to Visual Arts, Literature and Theatre, the nine culture filled days include local, national and internationally significant artists – some of which are appearing for the first time in Horsham and its immediate area.
At the core of the festival are some well-known events, groups and venues, such as the renowned Shipley Arts Festival, The Capitol Horsham, Horsham Artist’s Open Studios, Christ’s Hospital, Horsham Riverside Walk, Horsham Library, Sparks in the Park and Horsham Garden Music Festival. Collyer’s College, Horsham Music Circle, Johnson Neilson Theatre Group, Lights & Bushels Theatre Company, Chameleon Dance, Horsham Symphony Orchestra, Horsham Museum, Horsham Folk Club, Broadwood Morris, and HAODs also plan events, alongside many more groups and individuals.
Horsham Festival has been set up as a charitable organisation and has over 20 local arts and events groups involved. It aims to give a focus to Horsham’s already vibrant scene, creating an Arts Festival that, in time, will be regionally recognised and fosters local youth development in the arts.
Organisers of the event are grateful to All About Horsham magazine for design of the programme and to its supporters, including, WSCC Community Initiative Fund, Horsham District Council, Toovey’s, Visit Horsham and Vines Gatwick MINI.
The Horsham Festival programme is available online now at www.horshamfestival.co.uk and www.aahorsham.co.uk. Printed copies are available at The Horsham Museum Visitor Information Centre, Swan Walk and other locations listed on the festival website.
