Charity golfers hit sweet spot

Golfers drove, chipped and putted their way to raising £5,000 for The Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity at Five Oak, near Billingshurst.

The annual fund-raiser was held at Bramley Golf Club near Guildford in fine weather. Afterwards Catherine Bristow, the charity’s events fundraiser  said: “We of course would like to thank everyone who joined us for the day and therefore supported our charity. Special congratulations to British International Industries who won the Best Team award.

“It was such a lovely day. I could not have been more pleased.

“I would also like to say a special thank you to all of our sponsors including, Audi Five Oaks, Porsche Guildford, Harwoods Crawley, Toyota Motorline Horsham, Spofforths, Red River Solutions, Avtura and Lebertei Mobility.

“I would also like to say thank you to our lovely volunteers who helped out during the day and Aaron Lansberry our professional golfer who gave his time and skills free of charge.”

The charity’s next major event is the Arundel to Brighton charity walk on  September 17. For details contact Catherine Bristow on email at Tel 01403 780444 or visit website
