Success at Bluecoat Sports January Open Day

Bluecoat Taster Session

Last week, Bluecoat Sports hosted a hugely successful Open Day which saw over 400 Horsham locals participating in a wide range of fitness taster sessions. The Open Day, which took place on the 23rd January, was free to attend for Members and Non-Members.

Aims and benefits

Building on the large attendance numbers of previous years, Bluecoat Sports planned their latest Open Day to inspire people in the West Sussex area to beat the January blues and stay on target with their fitness goals: “Let Bluecoats give you an exciting, action packed Fitness and Wellbeing kick start to 2016”.

Individuals were encouraged to use an online booking form so the club could offer a friendly welcome and provide participants access to the classes with limited availability. Read more about the club’s planning for the event here.

Popular classes

A day for fitness buffs and new recruits to sample activities to improve fitness and health, the Les Mills relaunch class was the most attended with over 400 individuals taking part. An impressive advance on the 200 target set for the event.

Body Combat, a class the gym has become synonymous with, was once again popular with guests as over 100 people attended and enjoyed an expert training session. Kettlebells and Indoor Cycling also proved themselves highlights.

Of all the events, it’s perhaps the Body Pump class that will be remembered by many, with the talented instructor Elaine Boys completing her 60th release. An achievement the club supported with a well-deserved celebration.

Ongoing fitness goals

The Open Day provided new guests with the opportunity to see that fitness is achievable, especially for parents of young children. During the day the crèche was open and there was a range of activities available in the Kids Club.

The combination of the childcare facilities and state of the art equipment designed to help first timers and advanced sports enthusiasts meet their goals, is hoped to ensure more locals make time for fitness in 2016.

Fitness classes are available to non-members and membership fees start at £35 per month. For more information on the 70+ weekly classes and how you too can enjoy the facilities, call 01403 247 572.
