Saturday December 5 – SCFL Premier Division
Broadbridge Heath 2 – 0 Shoreham

Heath’s good run of form continued last Saturday at the Leisure Centre with a well-deserved win over Shoreham.
This latest success notched up an impressive statistic of 6 wins from their previous seven matches: the only loss being to league leaders Eastbourne Town by a narrow 2-1 score line.
A strong wind down the pitch and a playing surface that looked more like a ploughed field meant that both teams had to work hard to play any decent football.
Shoreham had adjusted to the conditions quicker than the home team and Michael Chester in goal was called on to make a couple of point blank saves before two goals in quick succession changed the game. The first was a candidate for goal of the season when Rob Godfrey struck a fierce left foot shot from 25 yards into the roof of the net. Within two minutes Heath had doubled their lead after a great ball from Jake Holmes released Kieran Purkis down the left who picked out Ollie Moore coming in at the far post to slot home.
The second half favoured Shoreham as they had the wind at their backs but Heath were very solid and Chester was only called upon once to produce a save that he pushed over the bar. Heath saw the remainder of the half out comfortably, managing to keep their 5th clean sheet in the last 6 games.
