Police raids are hitting illegal drug suppliers in Horsham area.
Sussex Police have executed search warrants in and around Horsham as part of what they call a determined drive against dealers. One of those arrested was only 17.
On Wednesday of last week officers raided properties in Cook Road, Horsham, and Heath Close, Broadbridge Heath.
Two 19-year-old men were arrested; one, from Croydon, on suspicion of money laundering and the other, from Crawley, already wanted on a warrant.
The raids followed execution of misuse of drugs act warrants on November 26 at properties in Crawley Road, Forest Road and Honeysuckle Walk, Horsham.
Police reported that at Forest Road and at Crawley Road quantities of drugs were seized, together with a pepper spray.
Three people were arrested; a 26-year-old woman, a 39-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, all from Horsham. They were detained on suspicion of possession of cannabis and cocaine, possession of a weapon which discharges a noxious liquid/gas/electricity and money laundering. All three were bailed until February 5, while enquiries continue. No arrests were made at Honeysuckle Walk.
Inspector Clare McKnight, of Horsham’s Neighbourhood Policing Team, (pictured) said: “We will continue to use all available methods to disrupt and deter illegal drugs activity in this district.
“The cost of drugs misuse to individuals and to the community as a whole cannot be underestimated.”
Inspector McKnight added: “We are determined to ensure that Horsham becomes a hostile environment for drug dealers and would encourage anyone with information about offenders or suspicious activity to come forward.”
