The young man who died after being hit by a train near Littlehaven station, Horsham, has been named as Anthony Ransom, who lived in the town.
A schoolboy found the body of the 22-year-old a fortnight ago close to the line at a foot crossing close to Rowlands Road, Horsham.
A report is being prepared for West Sussex Coroner Penelope Schofield and an eventual inquest hearing. Police have already ruled out foul play in the death. British Transport Police told the District Post this week that the injuries sustained by Anthony were “’consistent with being hit by a train’ but no further details of the incident or how Anthony came to be at the spot have been released.
An inquest has been formally opened and adjourned but no date has been set for the hearing. Inquiries are continuing.
