Three people were hurt when a coach and van collided at Pulborough.
Police were called at 7.36am on Wednesday to the A283 Station Road, Pulborough, near its junction with the A29 London Road at Swan Corner, where a coach and a van had been in collision. Two people were reported to be trapped with potentially serious injuries. The junction was closed to traffic, causing long delays in the area and motorists were advised to seek alternative routes.
The coach involved in the collision at Pulborough belongs to Seaford College, near Duncton, and is understood to have been on its way to pick up pupils. The driver’s injuries included a broken arm.
The van involved was a white Ford Transit. Its driver and a passenger were trapped. Both were being freed by West Sussex Fire and Rescue
Service personnel to be taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton. Both had serious injuries.
The crash occurred on the bridge over the River Arun near two mini-roundabouts at the junction of the A29 London Road and the A283 Station Road. Roads in the area were closed and diversions set up.
