For the second weekend running Horsham Gymnastics Centre Acrobatic Squad were involved in competition; travelling to Sittingbourne for the South East Regional Competition. Thirty seven of the squad competed over Saturday and Sunday against the top Acro gymnasts from the South East of England and came away with a total of seven gold, seven silver and six bronze medals.
The gold medallists were the Junior Women’s Group of Emily Steere, Zoe Schubert and Natalie O’Hara, the 11-16 Mixed Pair of Ben Ratcliffe and Madeline Kent and the Grade 6 Women’s Pair of Aimee Tolhurst and Ella Louise Nelson.
Olivia Barry, Summer Smith and Naima Hyder, competing in the Grade 2 Women’s Group category, won silver medals as did Devon Thomas and Kitty O’Pray in the Grade3 Mixed Pair and Dominic Smith and Phoebe Rochead in the Grade 4 Mixed Pairs.
Bronze medals went to Grade 3 Women’s Pair Macy Lawes and Olivia Barry, Grade 2 Mixed Pair Jackson Laing and Lily O’Keefe and Myla Kettell and Zoe Gaudiano competing in the 11-16 Women’s Pairs.
In what was another successful competition for the squad India Fieldon and Sophie Porter (Grade 2 Women’s Pair) Grace Hanger, Annabelle Wright and Nina Butler Laplace (Grade3 Women’s Group) Dominic Goddard and Darcy Luke (Grade 4 Mixed Pair) Matilda Tester and Alexis O’Hara (Grade 5 Women’s Pair) and Ella Dronfield, Manami Imada and Alex Rogers (11-16 Women’s Group) all narrowly missed out on a medal by finishing fourth.
Other results were Caitlin Simpson and Lily Knight (Grade 4 Women’s Pair) who finished in sixth place and Isabella Powell, Ella Turtle and Amelia Edson (Grade 4 Women’s Group) who finished seventh.
