Students call on Cambridge

Students from Collyers’s College, Horsham, attended a full day of lectures and tours at St John’s College, Cambridge.

As part of the continually rolling ‘Planning Your Future’ programme, students visited St John’s Divinity Hall for a series of lectures, advice, tours, and question and answer sessions.

Ian McAlister, who runs the college’s progression directorate, with a particular focus on higher education, said: “We have around 600 students applying for higher education and further education courses each year, including about 50 early applications to Oxford, Cambridge or veterinary and medical courses. Ensuring the students have the best chance of success depends on not only excellent teaching, but also hard-work and careful preparation. Today forms a vital part of this process.”
