Among the many services held to celebrate harvest time was one at St Mary’s Church, Horsham. It included the contribution of harvest gifts, a baptism and a bring-and-share lunch.
Donations of non-perishable foods were collected for St Cuthman’s Light Centre on the Whitehawk estate in Brighton. The church was decorated with beautiful autumn arrangements comprising both flowers, fruit and vegetables, and was packed full of families with children.
Curate Jimmy Young said: “It was a really festive atmosphere both during and after the harvest service. It is a lovely opportunity to give thanks to God for all the good things that he has provided us with, to share that provision, and also to share fellowship and get to know each other better.”
