The Fireworks Season is rapidly approaching and once again Billingshurst looks to set to be first to go, on Saturday 17th October. The Organisers are often asked “why so early?” the simple reason is that they use local Fireworks Suppliers, Aurora Fireworks, to put on this display, and Aurora get terribly busy as 5th November approaches, but don’t want to let down their local event. Two benefits of an October date is that the weather is often a bit warmer and drier – no promises, just saying!
The theme this year is Musicals, so come along and see how many different ones you can spot in the soundtrack which will accompany the display. If you have ever wondered how many Fireworks you can let off in 20 minutes the answer is thousands*, with the electronic firing gear being used, no more light the blue touch paper and stand back!
There’s no room for cars at Jubilee Fields, but you can park anywhere in the Village and either use the footbridge leading straight to the playing fields or the main entrance off the A272 heading west.
A Bar and BBQ will be available as will Tea and Coffee, but no alcohol to be brought to onto Jubilee Fields, also no laser light pens or sparklers, they’re dangerous in a crowd. Gates will open at 6.30 and the display will start at 8.00pm, some kiddies amusements will be available. Entrance will cost the same as last year, £6 Adults, £5 Children (under 3 go free). Advance Tickets, at £1 less, are available from a variety of outlets in the Village, until the close of business on Friday 16th Oct.
A collection will be made for Chestnut Tree House and the Organisers would like to thank Coco’s, Gozone and Leech Motors for their generous sponsorship.
