This week saw the soft launch of a new business radio station at the Eye Café in Horsham, representing an exciting opportunity for small and micro businesses. Web based, Business Radio, is the brain child of local business man, Tino da Silva, and the host for the launch was Horsham’s optician, Dirk Bollwerk. Dirk is also one of the DJs, owner of the eclectic Eye Café (found above Dixey CB in West Street) and creator of the already popular Business Radio Jazz Corner broadcasts.
The broadcasts are a mixture of music and fun interviews, tracking the journeys of a diverse and fascinating collection of local business owners. Interviewees are then given a page on the website and can join the VIP lounge, or take part in the various social media platforms. And it’s all for free!
With a team of 8 presenters, from across the region, Business Radio broadcast live, for the first time, last Thursday and listener numbers are already steadily growing. With big plans for 2016, including its official launch and hosting their own awards, it’s very much about supporting good causes and small businesses. Tino da Silva recently described the ethos behind Business Radio:
“Running a small business is tough and often there just aren’t sufficient funds for marketing and advertising. Business Radio is about redressing that balance. We’ve got some great initiatives planned and we can come into your business and broadcast from there for the day, really getting your staff engaged and giving you the chance to explain what you’re all about. We’ll also be supporting important causes, such as Breast Cancer UK. It’s free and it’s easy to get involved, just visit the website, get in touch or pop into Dixey’s.”
You’ll find Business Radio at www.businessradion.co.uk and on Twitter at @businessradio1 or by visiting the Eye Café above Dixey’s, in West Street, Horsham.
