After eight weeks of hard work and rehearsals, James and the Giant Peach was performed by thirty-five Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9 Christ’s Hospital pupils, to packed audiences in the beautiful Christ’s Hospital theatre.
Directed by Caroline Kelley, using elements of physical theatre and storytelling, the talented cast let their imaginations run wild and their creative juices flow free, whilst rehearsing the play of the story, adapted by Richard George.
The much loved book was brought to life on stage. Every pupil shone in their characters – two nasty aunts, six oversized insects and one special little boy were joined by a whole host of weird and wonderful characters.
The audiences joined James and his friends, and experienced their trials and tribulations, as they ventured over land and sea in an amazing giant peach!
