Dom Di Paola has been announced as the new manager of Horsham Football Club.
Thirty-four-year-old Di Paola joins the club after resigning as manager of Hastings United in January where he spent just under three months at the helm of Horsham’s fellow Ryman League strugglers.
Di Paola managed East Preston to the Sussex County League championship last season as well as steering the club to become the John O’Hara League Cup winners while finishing runners-up in the RUR Cup and reaching the last sixteen of the FA Vase in what was a dominant season for East Preston.
Di Paola’s experience and achievements in the Sussex County League, despite his age and time spent in management, could prove invaluable to the Hornets as their current Ryman League status looks almost certain to end in relegation to the Sussex County for next season.
There is also the slight hope that three wins from the remaining three matches under the new boss could yet see a remarkable last ditch revival and keep the club in the Ryman League. However this is very unlikely as it would require other sides in the relegation zone to lose their last three.
