The Drill Hall in Horsham was the venue once again on Saturday, March 14, for another successful Microbiz event with around 400 local people taking the chance to network and get hot business tips.
Business from all across the District came together once again to celebrate the 13th annual Microbiz event, which really does bring out the best of the local small business talent as well as established businesses and those just starting out.
Organised by Horsham District Council, the event this year saw in the region of 40 exhibitors from a range of business sectors, showing the event is still going from strength to strength.
Over 400 people took the opportunity to network, do business and learn a tip or two from expert seminar speakers and the overriding response was that Horsham Microbiz had lived up to, and perhaps even, exceeded expectations once again this year.
Horsham District Councillor and Cabinet Member for the Local Economy, Cllr Roger Paterson, whose idea it was originally to provide an event for small businesses, said: “From the meeting and greeting, the communications, the presentation and handling of seminars, to the care and detail in setting up the stands and decorations, the whole fair was very successful and, judging by comments during the day, greatly valued and appreciated by exhibitors and visitors alike. This was a high quality community event with an extremely positive atmosphere.”
Just some of the visitors’ comments summing up the 2015 event included:
“Exciting, enriching and satisfying.”
“Excellent variety of exhibitors – great to see the event so busy”.
“Very informative, and a one-stop shop for all business needs.”
“A mix of inspiration and solid, sound business advice!”
“Very useful and stimulating. Though provoking yet empowering!”
“A reinvigoration, just when I need it!”
There were seven free business master classes delivered by experts in their field, ranging from marketing and PR to dealing with tax and VAT as a business and also seminars offering advice on customer service, social media and making the most of a website.
The 2015 winners of the best dressed stands were, Metro hr Ltd for best small stand and Young Start-up Talent, best large stand.
Bestselling author and marketing expert, Dee Blick, who has supported the event for many years introduced Cllr Paterson who officially opened the event.
All in all, Horsham Microbiz once again did the business!
