Girls versus boys at this year’s Equinox beer festival

Following the successful event last March, the CAMRA North Sussex Equinox Beer & Cider Festival returns to the Drill Hall in Horsham, March 28-29.

To add some extra spice this year, two special beers have been brewed for the event by the North Sussex branch members, with the girls challenging the boys.

The girls chose to celebrate the arrival of Spring with a light beer, and have come up with Tempus Fugit, a classic light, hoppy beer that is currently so popular. The boys, meanwhile, have gone darker and heavier with a warming Winter ale called Smokin’Choc Porter, infused with chilli and chocolate.

North Sussex branch members have offered their thanks to the Kissingate Brewery and King Beer for their help with the brewing.

Which beer will be more popular, and which team will ending up with the bragging rights?

The beer list will have over 50 beers, with a healthy mix of winter and spring ales available

CAMRA will be providing an excellent line up of local music for the Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon sessions.

Session are on Saturday 12pm-4pm, and 6pm-10pm, then Sunday 12pm-4pm. Tickets cost £6 for Saturday and £4 fpr Sunday, and include a souvenir glass, plus a free pint for card-carrying CAMRA members. Hot and cold baguettes and snacks will be available at all sessions.

A £1 donation will be made by the Branch to a local charity for any returned souvenir glasses, along with the value of any donated surplus tokens. This year’s charity is St. Catherine’s Hospice.
