Police appeal for Storrington attack witnesses

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault on a man in his 20s and a second man in his 40s who were attacked in Spierbridge Road, Storrington, in the early hours of Saturday, December 6.

The victims were at their home address when at around midnight they heard a car being damaged outside. On going out to investigate they were attacked by a group of up to eight men in their 20s.

The older man sustained a hairline facial fracture and cuts that needed stitching.

Detective Constable Paul Tonks said: “This was a deliberate attack that had the potential for far more serious injury. The local area is small enough that someone will know about this, and we would ask them to come forward.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has other information is asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting serial 0015 of 6/12.

Alternatively they can call the independent charity Crimestoppers free and anonymously on 0800 555 111.
