I’m a huge fan of theatre and musicals, and so I jumped at the opportunity to see a group of talented locals come together to perform a selection of numbers from some of the biggest shows out there.
After last year’s show, That’s Entertainment, put on by Forest Amateur Musical Entertainers (FAME), I was looking forward to seeing what the company had in store for us, and the evening was fresh and packed with new numbers.
Divided into two acts, the show gave every member of the cast an opportunity to shine, and featured solo performances, duets, full company numbers, dance, and a little tap too.
Horsham resident and chairman of FAME, Colin Carter guided the audience through the evening introducing each performance, and taking to the stage with classic Flanders and Swann numbers.
The entire company had a passion for musical theatre and it really showed in their performances, and I am sure that every person performing loved every minute of being on the stage.
There was a huge collection of numbers packed into the show from Oliver!, Wicked, Oklahoma!, Cabaret and The Blues Brothers.
The show was directed by Wendy Galleymore and her daughter Su Galleymore.
That’s Entertainment was a great night out, and I thoroughly recommend attending future performances.
You’ll certainly find something you’ll love amongst the groups performances, and I came away replaying some of my favourite show tunes in my head, and they introduced me to a few new ones too.
