The nights are getting longer and the temperature is dropping as winter approaches and with Christmas not too far away, pantomime season is on its way.
This year’s star-studded pantomime in Horsham will be Cinderella at The Capitol, Horsham.
Producer Nick Mowat said: “Cinderella at The Capitol will be everything that people expect from a traditional Christmas family pantomime and more. For such a well-known and well-loved tale, I wanted everyone, children and adults alike to come along and enjoy the familiar rags to riches story, peppered with some contemporary references and gags, so that it will appeal to all ages.”
“We have assembled an extraordinarily strong cast with twelve professional and no less than 27 local young performers who share the performances.”
This year’s panto stars TV chef and I’m A Celebrity star Rosemary Shrager as the Fairy Godmother, musical performer Keith Jack who appeared on Any Dream Will Do as Prince Charming, CBBC’s Olly Pike as Dandini, Zoe Nicole Adkin as Cinderella, Ollie Taylor and Steve King as The Wugly Sisters, Michael Goble as Buttons and Richard Allen as Baron Hardup.
Zoe Nicole Adkin told The District Post: “It’s really buzzing and I’m very excited to get going with rehearsals starting in December. Cinderella is a dream role and my niece is the most excited. It’s a timeless and iconic pantomime.”
The Wugly Sisters are excited to show off all their colourful costumes and tell the people of Horsham a thing or two about fashion, they said: “Our costumes and outfits are great and there are 22 changes between us throughout the show. We change from top to toe, including our underpants. We’re bringing sparkle and glamour to Horsham and we’re urging husbands to bring their wives along for fashion advice from us!”
Fairy Godmother, Rosemary Shrager originally turned down the role, but after learning it was to play as the Fairy Godmother she phoned up The Capitol to take on the role. Rosemary said: “I can’t wait for the show, it’s going to be very exciting. It was suggested to me in the past I would make a wonderful fairy godmother, and I thought to myself that would be wonderful. Although I’m not an actress, I’m a chef I love performing.”
The show will run from Thursday, December 11 2014, to Sunday, January 4, 2015, at The Capitol Horsham
Tickets cost £19 for adults and £17 for concessions, group and special rates are available.
