Above Rachael’s kitchen in the Carfax, Horsham is a hidden collection of artwork gathered by local artists.
The Art Ache Gallery opened by Sally Bushnell provides a place for local artists to showcase their work. The gallery primarily concentrates on solo exhibitions from a variety of artists including Kelly Delaney, Jane Salter, Nicki Figgins and Ian Sherman, who will all be exhibiting in the gallery.
Sally told The District Post: “I moved up here five years ago, and to open this new gallery I got back in touch with artists I’ve previously worked with and they’ve all been very supportive of the gallery.
“We’re all grateful for Rachael being a patron of the arts by allowing us to have this wonderful space in the centre of town. If it wasn’t for her input, the gallery wouldn’t be.
“All the work is for sale and the prices are not set in stone, they are negotiable for people who want to make a reasonable offer.”
Art Ache Gallery will be holding a number of exhibitions showcasing local artists which will be listed in The District Post’s events section in the future.
Sally plans to keep the gallery open above Rachael’s Kitchen, enabling artists to get their work seen in Horsham.
“People are able to purchase an original piece of art and they can appreciate original art by local artists. It’s all about being able to buy original art and display it.”
As Sally puts it, “A lot of ache often goes into painting” and the work on display is emotional, captivating and demonstrates the skill of these artists.
The gallery is open seven days a week, Sally is in from 10am to 4pm on Monday to Saturday.
