Children’s entertainer and local celebrity Dave Benson Phillips was the guest of honour at The Butterfly Project, Horsham, on Friday, June 30, to unveil a new wall mural by Tony Eadie of Eazyart.

Tony worked for up to 13 hours a day from Monday, May 26, painting the mural which reflected the work and hobbies of the people who work and visit The Butterfly Project.

Tony told The District Post: “It’s taken a lot longer than I thought it would but I’m loving every minute of it. I wanted to give something back to the community and I wanted to do something for Horsham.”

Richard James, manager at The Butterfly Project is delighted by the mural being painted in the back yard at the centre.

Richard said: “I think it’s phenomenal and has changed the back wall. It’s a lot more exciting and it’s completely different and brightens the area.”

At the unveiling on Friday 30, staff, volunteers and regular visitors to the centre relaxed with a BBQ in the yard and welcomed Dave Benson Phillips who unveiled the colourful new mural.

In preparing the wall mural Tony asked everyone at The Butterfly Project to come up with an idea for a part of the mural which he then sketched out and added to the painting. Richard added: “The mural reflects the personalities of the people who visit The Butterfly Project.”
