The Drill Hall in Horsham held another successful Microbiz event this weekend with over 500 people taking the chance to network and get business tips from expert seminar speakers.
Businesses came together once again to celebrate the 12th annual Microbiz event, including local small business talent as well as established businesses and those just starting out.
Organised by Horsham District Council, the event this year saw 42 exhibitors from a range of business sectors.
John Peel, chair of the local enterprise partnership Coast to Capital, opened the event once again. He continues to support Microbiz because the support the event has provided for hundreds of small businesses over the years.
Horsham District Councillor and Cabinet Member for the Local Economy, Cllr Roger Paterson, had this to say: “The whole fair was very successful and, judging by comments during the day, greatly valued and appreciated by exhibitors and visitors alike. This was a high quality community event with an extremely positive atmosphere.”
There were nine free business master classes delivered by experts in their field, ranging from marketing and PR to dealing with tax and VAT as a business and also seminars offering advice on customer service, social media and making the most of a website.
One visitor captured the feelings of many by saying: “I enjoyed the energy and camaraderie which pervaded the hall and left with even more confidence. This is a good place to settle.”
