Horsham last night achieved a rare feat, they played a football match, and a home one at that. The weather conditions have resulted in a massive fixture backlog so this was a much needed game for the Hornets.
Against a very strong Faversham Town side, who have hopes of making the playoffs, Horsham came away with a well earned point despite falling behind to a first minute goal after Jack Harris scored passed returning keeper Mark Zawadski.
The Faversham lead did not last long however with Tony Nwachukwu levelling up the scores in the eighth minute.
Later on Junior Caffo hit a post and there were chances for both teams, all without any further addition to the scoreline.
The point lifts the Hornets up two places in the league to seventeenth and will give the players a big confidence boost and more importantly some much needed match practice ahead of the visit to Goring’s Mead this Saturday (February 22) of Whitstable Town, who sit four places below them in the table.
