Gold and currency stolen in Horsham burglary

Police are investigating a burglary at Horsham house in which valuable jewellery and cash in various currencies was stolen.

The house in Woodgates Close, Horsham, was broken into overnight on Friday 13, to Saturday, December 14, whilst the occupants were away. Chinese gold bracelets, pendants, lockets, watches ear-rings and necklaces valued at £20,000 were taken.

Also taken were various amounts of different currencies; £1800 to -£2000 in UK Sterling, £300 to -400 in Swedish Kroners; £1000 in US dollars; £300-400 in Singapore Dollars; £500 worth in Mauritian Rupees and £400 worth inf Hong Kong Dollars.

Detective Constable Karen Young said; “If anyone saw suspicious activity in the area at that time, or has been offered jewellery or currency like this since 14 December, we ask them to contact us via 101 or email contact.centre@sussex.police.uk quoting serial 237 of 14/12. You can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
