Weapon seized after Horsham firearms incident

Just before 11am on Friday, August 30, police received a report that a man had been seen outside a house in Stirling Way, Horsham, holding what appeared to be a long-barrelled weapon of some kind.

Officers contained the address and ensured that local people were safe. Shortly after 1pm armed officers entered the address and arrested a 34-year old local man on suspicion of firereams offences. A weapon which is believed to be an air rifle was seized.

There are no reports at this time of firearms being discharged or of any injuries. Enquiries are at an early stage.
