Police are warning homeowners with flat roof extensions in Horsham to keep windows secure following two break-ins on Thursday, August 29.
The first happened in Oakhill Road between 7.40am and 4.30pm and the second was in Rushams Road between 1.30pm and 7pm. In both break-ins, the offender/s got into the properties by climbing onto the extension roof and climbing in through an open window.
Property including jewellery was stolen.
A police spokesperson said: “During the warm weather it is easy to leave a small window open and think it will be ok but we urge people to always lock doors and windows when they are out, no matter how short a period it is for.
“If anyone saw anything suspicious in the relevant areas on Thursday then we would ask them to call police on 101 quoting serials 1097 or 1565 of 29/08, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.”
