Henfield Theatre Company are producing the musical ‘Mack and Mabel’ beginning on May 15 and running for four nights.
The box office is now open for this madcap show, directed by Angela Reid with music from David Barnett and choreographed by Ann Atkins.
It is the story of Mack Sennett, the silent movie director and founder of the Keystone Kops and Mabel Normand, a New York waitress he discovered and made the most popular movie star of that time.
The show traces their relationship from unpromising beginnings, via love, success and scandal to its moving finale.
Enhanced by a brilliant score from composer Jerry Hermann, who also created Mame, Hello Dolly and La Cage aux Folles, it is jam-packed with wonderful songs plus all the fun and frolics of the silent movies – complete with custard pies, knockabout comedy and the crazy Kops!!
The performances are on May 15,16,17,18 at The Henfield Hall commencing at 7.30pm.
Ticket prices are £12/£10 and available now at the Box Office, Henfield Furnishings, High Street, Henfield – telephone them on 01273 490080.
The show is sponsored by Nigel Parsons Builders.
